Nordri: motivated by challenges
The Shetland isles, where we are based, have long been reliant on fossil fuels: from the peat that was traditionally burned in fireplaces and stoves to the oil that has fuelled the economy since the 1970s.
Nordri founder Brian Halcrow, an Electric & Electronic Engineering BEng (Hons) graduate, saw this reliance and the challenges which came with it. His passion for emerging technologies and a desire to encourage lasting solutions led to the founding of Nordri.
At 60º North, the environment is challenging. Wind, salt air and the effects these have on materials mean that things made in Shetland have to withstand a lot.
Nordri solutions are “Shetland proof”: bold, cutting edge and built to last.
our values
Nordri exists to Provide elegant solutions
Solving people’s problems is important to us. We are driven by a desire to improve the world around us: whether that be through increasing access to renewable energy opportunities, providing clarity around renewables and reassurance about energy costs, or by managing large, multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
