Nordri specified, supplied and installed this highly advanced hybrid renewable project that seamlessly combines wind, solar, and battery storage technologies.
The initial phase of the project began in 2020, when Nordri installed a SD6 6kW wind turbine. The system was further enhanced in 2023, when the team returned and significantly upgraded this system by introducing solar PV and an extended battery storage setup. The entire setup is housed in its own specially constructed studio, and it operates as a genuine hybrid system, capable of harnessing power from both wind and solar sources. Whilst this is primarily a grid connected system, it can also operate in an off grid scenario if failure occurs.
One of the notable features of this system is its ability to simultaneously charge the battery bank from both wind and solar sources, resulting in a combined renewable energy input of 11.4kW. This ensures a robust and sustainable energy generation capability.
In the event of a power outage, the system can provide 6kW of power to the property. Additionally, in case of prolonged grid failure and reduced renewable energy generation, a diesel generator is available to automatically recharge the battery bank, ensuring continuous power supply.
This system is equipped with remote monitoring capabilities, allowing the client to oversee its performance and operation from anywhere in the world, similar to our other installations.
This project is a cutting-edge hybrid renewable energy system that maximises energy generation from wind and solar sources while providing backup power options for enhanced reliability. It's a sustainable and resilient solution that offers the client both environmental benefits, reduced energy bills as well as ensuring an uninterrupted power supply.
